Avro India Ltd (NSE: AVROIND) has launched “Operation Shuddhi,” a nationwide initiative aimed at transforming plastic waste into a large-scale circular economy opportunity in India.
The initiative was officially launched at Malviya Smriti Bhavan in New Delhi, where more than 180 participants including senior bureaucrats, industry experts, academics, spiritual leaders, and volunteers gathered to discuss strategies for tackling plastic pollution and promoting sustainable recycling.
According to the company, the mission of Operation Shuddhi is to convert plastic waste into an economic resource while reducing environmental damage. The campaign aims to mobilize citizens, institutions, and communities to participate in plastic collection, recycling, and reuse.
As part of the initiative, the company has also launched the Operation Shuddhi website and recycling mobile application, which will help connect volunteers and create an organized plastic collection and recycling ecosystem across the country.
The long-term vision of the movement includes engaging over 500,000 citizens, creating ₹50,000 crore worth of circular economy activity, generating large-scale livelihoods, and significantly reducing plastic pollution and greenhouse gas emissions.
The program plans to collaborate with schools, colleges, hospitals, hotels, dhabas, religious institutions, markets, and community organizations to ensure that plastic waste is collected, repurposed, and reintegrated into the economy instead of ending up in landfills.
